This is what Marjorie Barretto said regarding her loss.
In an Instagram post, Marjorie Barretto expressed she’s still thankful despite her defeat in this year’s midterm polls.
The 2025 midterm elections saw a large number of celebrities running for public office and only a few of them were able to make it through. Some celebrities who won in Halalan 2025 included Erwin Tulfo in the Senate; Arjo Atayde, Richard Gomez, Lani Mercado-Revilla, and Jolo Revilla in the Congress; Isko Moreno and Lucy Torres-Gomez for mayor; Vilma Santos for governor, and many others.
Amid these victories, there were also those who failed, and among them is Marjorie Barretto. According to the partial and unofficial results, she received 112,624 votes and fell short.
She placed seventh overall in the Councilors race for the First District of Caloocan City, which made her at least 17,000 votes short to be included in the Top 6.
“Hindi man tayo pinalad… Lumaban tayo ng patas,” she wrote in an Instagram post as she expressed acceptance of defeat. Despite the outcome, she felt the love and support of the people of Caloocan City.
“Maraming Salamat sa 112k votes. Grabe kayong magmahal district 1! Pinaramdam ninyo sa akin yan saan man ako nagpunta. Sa lahat ng tumulong at nag tiwala ng walang kapalit, MARAMING SALAMAT,” she said and assured the people that even though she did not win, she will still continue to help out.
Barretto added that she is grateful for the memories and the people she met along the way.
In the comments section, a lot of people consoled her and remained hopeful that the right time for her would come. To recall, she was elected as a City Councilor of Caloocan more than a decade ago.
