Male Snatcher Arrested After Stealing Student’s Phone in Bacolod City
ROBBERY – A male snatcher was caught after stealing a mobile phone from a student’s bag in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
Robbery is a crime where someone takes something valuable, like money or belongings, from another person using force, threats, or intimidation. It usually happens face-to-face and often involves violence or the fear of violence.
If someone grabs your bag and threatens to hurt you if you don’t give it, that’s robbery. It’s different from theft or stealing, where someone takes something without the person knowing right away like secretly taking a wallet from a bag.
Recently, Raymond Cubos, a Facebook user, shared a video of a cellphone thief being caught. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and garnered variious reactions from the online community.
In the video, the student looked upset after realizing her phone was missing. According to Cubos, he saw the thief steal the phone and immediately ran after him. The suspect tried to get away, but Cubos didn’t give up.
While chasing the suspect, Cubos asked for help from tricycle drivers nearby. Thankfully, some of them joined in and helped stop the thief. In the video, the suspect was seen holding some cash while being restrained by several men. One man even punched the thief out of anger.
A few moments later, the police arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody.
The incident reminds everyone to be more alert in public places, especially students who often carry gadgets and valuables in their bags. It also shows how important it is to work together in times of trouble. With the help of alert citizens, one more thief is now off the streets.
