MMDA Starting Removing Campaign Posters After 2025 Elections
CLEARING OPERATION – MMDA has started the removal of campaign posters after the 2025 as a part of the clean-up operation.
On Wednesday (May 14, 2025), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has officially started removing campaign posters on Wednesday, May 14, following the recently concluded midterm elections.
The clean-up operation is being carried out in coordination with the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

The clearing efforts began at Regalado Bridge along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. This is one of the many areas where campaign materials were heavily posted during the election season.
Collected posters and banners will be brought to MMDA stations located in Ortigas and Marikina. From there, they will be sorted and prepared for donation.
According to the MMDA, some of the campaign materials will be donated to selected beneficiaries. These include jails, the Tahanang Walang Hagdan organization which supports persons with disabilities, and the environmental group EcoWaste Coalition.

Instead of going to waste, the materials will be repurposed or recycled for practical use.
The MMDA reminded the public and candidates that proper disposal of campaign materials is part of being responsible and respectful to the environment. While elections are important, cleaning up after them is equally necessary to restore order and cleanliness in public areas.
Campaign seasons often leave streets, walls, and posts covered with printed materials. That’s why this step by the MMDA is seen as a positive move in keeping communities clean and safe.

Efforts like this also encourage candidates and supporters to think more carefully about how they manage campaign materials in future elections. With teamwork between government offices and local groups, clean-up activities become smoother and more meaningful for everyone involved.
