A young woman went viral and elicited online reactions after sharing her awkward experience with her boyfriend’s father.
Recently, a Reddit user shared about the incident after visiting her boyfriend’s home for a family lunch. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and garnered various reactions from the online community.
According to the lady netizen, everything seemed normal during the meal. After eating, everyone started cleaning up. Her boyfriend was washing the dishes, his mother was putting away leftovers, and she helped by wiping the table.
The father, on the other hand, stayed seated at the table, using his phone. His plate had already been cleared, and most of the cleaning was already done.
As she wiped the table, she noticed a stain near the father’s spot. Since his phone was placed close by, she politely asked for space and carefully wiped the area. To her surprise, the father chuckled, stood up, and said in a displeased tone, “ano ba tong waitress nyo, ang bastos e.”
The woman was surprised and felt embarrassed in front of everyone. She shared that it was the first time she was directly called out by her boyfriend’s dad, even though she had been in the relationship for a year.

However, during previous visits, she had noticed that the father often raised his voice, either at his kids or at his wife, sometimes over small things like spilled soup. She tried to ignore it by staying busy and keeping to herself.
It became more uncomfortable after seeing how differently the father behaved when his so-called “favorite daughter-in-law,” who’s been with her boyfriend’s brother for ten years.
