Vico Sotto Asked If He’ll Seek National Position After His Third Term As Pasig Mayor

Vico Sotto has a landslide win against three opponents

Incumbent Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto had this answer when asked if he will seek a national position next elections after his third term.

Mayor Vico had a landslide win against his opponents Sarah Discaya (who said that she is a first-time voter), Cory Palma, and Eagle Ayaon.

In an interview, with GMA News, Mayor Vico expressed gratitude to all Pasigueños who supported him and for the trust that they continue to give to him.

When asked what is next after being elected for his third term as Pasig Mayor, the public servant said that he will continue to strengthen the reforms and changes his administration started in 2019.

He also mentioned that his 2025 campaign was different from past campaigns. Mayor Vico went through a lot and experienced encountering fabricated stories about him on social media. To recall, his opponent Sarah Discaya’s husband even filed a disqualification case against him.

He is not afraid to answer allegations against him on social media and he would even show proof supporting his side.

The Pasig Mayor stressed that people now dislike traditional politics and the old ways like vote-buying and giving kickbacks to the government. He acknowledges that there is no government that is perfect but he stressed that Pasig has improved a lot in all aspects.

With his prominent good governance advocacy, many Filipinos outside Pasig City also want to experience the better changes that his administration has done. When asked if he would run for a higher position next elections, Mayor Vico Sotto said that he has no plan.

“Sana hayaan din po ako ng mga tao na magtrabaho at hindi ako laging pine-pressure. Importante magtrabaho tayo. Let’s do our best. Focus po tayo,” the mayor said.
