Teacher Disappointed by Voters’ Trash Left Behind After Elections

Teacher Expresses Frustration After Voters Left Piles of Trash After Elections

A female teacher expressed her disappointment after finding piles of trash left behind by voters during the 2025 elections.

Recently, Raqueza Mortiz Jemino, a Facebook user, shared photos and videos showing the classroom in a messy state after the election. The post garnered various reactions from netizens, with many agreeing that voters should be more responsible.

The teacher, who also served as Electoral Board support staff, had to clean up the classroom herself after the voting ended. According to her, there were garbage bins provided both inside and outside the classroom, but many voters still chose to throw their trash on the floor or leave it on desks.

Food wrappers, plastic cups, flyers, and other waste were scattered all over the place. It was disheartening for her to see the classroom, which is normally a place for learning, treated carelessly.

The incident happened at Poloyogan Integrated School in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, where the school was used as a polling place.

Jemino shared her frustration, not just because of the mess, but because it showed a lack of respect and discipline. Voters came to exercise their right to vote, but failed to show the same responsibility in taking care of the place they used.

The incident shows that bringing change doesn’t stop at the ballot. It also includes small actions, like cleaning up after ourselves. For those who served during the election, especially teachers like her, it would have made a big difference if voters had shown more care.
