Actress-entrepreneur Kiray Celis shares the reason why she wanted an engagement ring that costs not less than Php 1 million.
After over five years as boyfriend and girlfriend, Kiray said “yes” to the wedding proposal of Stephan Estopia, her long-time boyfriend. It was an event witnessed by their family and friends.
The ring was stealing the spotlight because of its beauty. It has a huge diamond at its center, and small diamonds are embedded on the band. She was so emotional at that moment that she forgot where to put the ring correctly. She shared, “Hindi ko alam na sa kaliwa pala, as in wala talaga akong idea. Kaya ngayon nilipat ko na, e,”
In a previous article, Kiray’s engagement ring is worth more than a million, and according to her, this is her dream. It was a dream her soon-to-be husband made come true for her. She expressed, “Hinigitan niya pa. Talaga naman. Iba.”
Why did she want this?
According to her, this request was one of the reasons why it took some time for Stephan to propose to her. In an interview, she revealed the practical reason behind the request.
“Kapag nagyaya ka magpakasal kailangan isang milyon ang minimum ng singsing kasi kapag nangangailangan tayo siyempre eh di ibenta ko ‘yung singing,” she said and added that she doesn’t have any plans to sell it for its value, but if a situation demands it and they have nothing, they could use it.
As the breadwinner of her family, she learned the importance of being financially prepared in life. Anytime, they could be put in an unexpected situation, and being prepared financially would be a big help.
She revealed that Stephan proposed to her with a 3-karat diamond ring.
