Imee Marcos released this political ad
Senator Imee Marcos has this campaign video in which she said that the current government is not led by “MARCOS.”
Sen. Imee is seeking for reelection. She is from one of the most prominent political clans in the Philippines. Being a daughter of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, Sen. Imee was exposed to the political scene at a young age.
She is known for being one of the closest friends and ally of Vice President Sara Duterte who is currently having conflict with President Bongbong Marcos.

Sen. Imee Marcos took the side of former President Rodrigo Duterte, VP Sara’s father, when he was arrested by the International Criminal Court. Sen. Imee even led a Senate hearing regarding FPRRD’s arrest.
Despite PBBM and VP Sara’s conflict, the latter endorsed Sen. Imee’s senatorial candidacy.
On May 9, Sen. Imee shared a fierce campaign ad. In the video, she strongly said, “Ang gobyerno ngayon ay hindi MARCOS.” For her, the government is being led by Romualdez and Araneta.

Apparently, the Senator was referring to House Speaker Martin Romualdez and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos. Then, she mentioned that she was advised by the Vice President to change her last name but she said that she does not need to change her last name.
“Marcos ako. I’m me! Ako si Imee Marcos at kapag Marcos ko hindi ka makikipag-alyansa sa mga politikong nagbintang, nagdiin, at umapi sa iyong pamilya,” the Senator said.
She added that being a Marcos, you should not eat what you have already puked. “Hindi ganyan ang legasiya ng aking ama,” Sen. Imee said. She also said that aside from rice, justice is also imported now. Then, she mentioned her tagline, “I’m me. Imee, ImeeIsip, ImeeSalita, ImeeGawa!”
Sen. Imee Marcos wrote in the caption of her post that she can’t choose who will be her relatives but the people can choose the Senator they will vote for.
