Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on 2022 Elections Victory w/ Pres. Bongbong Marcos
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President has no regrets on running with Pres. Bongbong Marcos in the 2022 Elections rather thankful.
The recent arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has divided the once united Marcos and Duterte supporters. The unexpected turn of events last March 11 that brought former Pres. Duterte to The Hague, Netherlands triggered the feud between Vice Pres. Duterte and Pres. Marcos.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte even thanked Pres. Bongbong Marcos for her renewed father-daughter relationship with former Pres. Duterte but, later on, tagged it as “sarcasm”. Amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government, Senator Imee Marcos is visibly on the side of the Dutertes in the issue.
Sen. Imee Marcos opened an investigation in the Senate over Duterte’s arrest. According to her, she cannot accept what was done to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The Senator also believes that there was allegedly no due process in Duterte’s arrest.
Sen. Imee Marcos previously expressed her regrets on convincing Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to run for vice president in the 2022 Elections. She recalled that Duterte was already set to run for Davao City mayor then.
At a campaign event, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her acceptance of the apology of Sen. Imee Marcos on convincing her to take a presidential bid. According to the Vice President, based on a report on Manila Bulletin, she is rather thankful.
“No, because I am vice president right now. So I do not regret anything. I am able to help a lot of people. I’m able to help people nationwide because my office is a national office. On that note, I am — I am thankful. I am thankful that the 2022 elections happened and that I became vice president,” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also has her own belief with regards to the victory of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She also recently took swipe at her running mate in the 2022 Elections.
“And I think this was really bound to happen. The 2022 elections was bound to happen so that everyone can see what a Marcos can do to a country. And that is just bring us to the road to perdition,” Duterte said.
Amid the 2025 Elections drawing near, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte endorses Sen. Imee Marcos saying she’s different from her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The Vice President also called on the people not to vote for PBBM’s candidates.
