Ricky Davao: Celebrities Paid Tribute To The Actor

Several celebrities sent their heartfelt messages to Ricky Davao.

RICKY DAVAO – Messages of sympathy started to pour in for the veteran actor and director who died at the age of 63.

Veteran actor Ricky Davao died at the age of 63 after a battle with cancer. The children of the actor confirmed his passing, and the death of an icon added to the string of unfortunate deaths this year that included other icons such as Pilita Corrales, Nora Aunor, and Hajji Alejandro.

Davao died after facing complications related to cancer, and he was surrounded by his children and loved ones when he peacefully passed away.

A lot of heartfelt messages poured in for the actor

Ricky’s daughter, Ara, confirmed her father’s passing and added, “For more than four decades, he dedicated his life to the craft of acting and directing. His remarkable body of work and award-winning performances have left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire. Most of all he was a loving father, brother, son, and friend.”

In the comments section of Ara’s post, several celebrities expressed their sadness. Megastar Sharon Cuneta expressed her deepest condolences to them, who lost their loved ones one after another.

Janine Gutierrez, Melai Cantiveros, Alyssa Muhlach, Ivana Alawi, Darren Espanto, Mavy Legaspi, Chie Filomeno, Angelina Cruz, Eric Quizon, Diego Gutierrez, Richard Yap, and Lotlot de Leon also reached out to express their messages of sympathy.

Singer and actress Zsa Zsa Padilla recounted the days she was able to spend working with him. They worked together in Familia Zaragoza. They played sibling roles, and since then, she started to fondly call him “Brother.”

She underscored that Ricky is a “great loss” in the showbiz industry.

Veteran newscaster Arnold Clavio also paid tribute to the late actor, saying, “Salamat Direk.” 

Kapuso actor Benjamin Alves said he was “one of the kindest, most passionate souls” he had ever met. He recalled the times he worked with him as his director and how easy and blissful it was every time to work with him.

He wrote, “You were gone too soon Direk Ricky. I will forever find comfort in your smile, and your absolute love for our craft, our industry. I love you Direk.”
