PAGASA Says 3 Weather Systems to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that three weather systems will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Friday (May 2, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that the Low Pressure Area, which is 440 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone affecting Mindanao, while the effects of the easterlies will be felt in the rest of the country.

The LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate.
“Based on our latest analysis, this low-pressure area we’re monitoring will possibly approach our landmass and, in the coming days, will possibly traverse the Visayas area towards the area west of Palawan,” Castañeda explained.
The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
“Our weather will be warm and humid. We also have the possibility of isolated or sudden rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies,” Castañeda explained.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
“These rains will be moderate to at times heavy that may cause flooding and landslides,” she added.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA. No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboard.
