The Office of the Prosecutor has summoned VP Sara Duterte regarding the case filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against her.
Previously, Vice President Sara Duterte confirmed receiving the summon order from the Office of the Prosecutor. This is connected with the complaint against her filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
“Ako man ay naka-receive din kanina ng summons sa Office of the Prosecutor sa finile ng National Bureau of Investigation na kaso laban sa akin,” the Vice President said but did not give any further details.
To recall, the NBI filed grave threats and incitement to sedition complaints against the vice president after airing her plans to kill President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
She accordingly hired someone to do it once the supposed kill plot against her succeeded. NBI issued a subpoena against Duterte over her remarks against President Marcos.
However, after the remarks created a loud buzz, she took it back, saying the supposed plot had been taken out of context.
She was also not surprised when charges were also filed against former Palace spokesperson Harry Roque. She believed that this was because of Roque being vocal in criticizing the faults of the current administration.
“Hindi na tayo nagugulat, ‘no, na merong case na finile kay dating spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque dahil isa talaga siya sa mga malakas ang boses at malakas ang loob na magsabi kung ano ang mali sa administrasyon ngayon,” she said.
Meanwhile, Duterte is facing an impeachment complaint from the House of Representatives.
The six major allegations connected to her impeachment are misusing public funds while being the vice president and education department head; unexplained wealth; death threats to the president; bribery and corruption; involvement in extrajudicial killings; and destabilization, insurrection, and public disorder.
