Businesswoman Files Illegal Detention Case vs. CIDG Chief Nicolas Torre III, his Subordinates
CIDG Chief Nicolas Torre III is reportedly faced with illegal detention charges involving “photocopied” red notice.
The controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte brought political turmoil in the Philippine government. It also earned several individuals bashing and criticisms following the unexpected turn of events last March 11.

Duterte was arrested by the authorities of the Philippine National Police. He was brought to Villamor Air Base where he was detained for several hours. Previously, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group or CIDG chief Nicolas Torre III admitted to not allowing Duterte see VP Sara during his detention.
On the same day that he was arrested, Duterte was flown to The Hague, Netherlands via Dubai. It followed the viral scene when Duterte’s youngest daughter, Kitty Duterte, slammed Torre for not disclosing where her father will be taken.

Kitty Duterte claimed that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was allegedly under “illegal detention” citing that there was no arrest warrant against her father. Criticisms outpoued against Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the Philippine government, and the lead implementers of his arrest including CIDG chief Nicolas Torre III.

Recently, amid Duterte’s arrest and the transfer of his custody to the International Criminal Court remaining as a controversy, a businesswoman reportedly filed illegal detention charges against CIDG chief Nicolas Torre III.
Based on a report on PhilStar, a businesswoman identified as Rotchelle Calle, 48 years old, filed criminal charges against CIDG chief Nicolas Torre and his men. The woman was allegedly detained for six (6) days based on “photocopied” red notice.
However, based on the report, Torre and his men did not attend the Makati prosecutor office’s preliminary investigation last April 21 and 28. As of this writing, Torre has yet to issue a statement.
Torre is one of the newly-promoted PNP Generals. During the oathtaking, Pres. Bongbong Marcos called on the newly-promoted PNP Generals to let their actions be out of what is right and legal.
