Pres. Bongbong Marcos Gives Message at 39 PNP Star-Ranked Officers Oath-taking Ceremony

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President urged the new generals of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to let their actions “always be rooted in what is right” and legal.

One of the people who earned countless criticisms over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was Criminal Investigation and Detection Group or CIDG chief Nicolas Torre III. The former President’s daughter Kitty Duterte also slammed Torre. Recently, the CIDG Chief was among the 39 people who were promoted in their career.

Based on a report on Inquirer, Pres. Bongbong Marcos attended the oath-taking ceremony of 39 Star-Ranked Officers of the PNP. At the oath-taking ceremony, he called on the new PNP generals to let their actions “always be rooted in what is right” and legl.

Marcos Jr. also reminded the officers to perform their jobs with integrity, dedication, and accountability. He also called on the newly-promoted officials to lead by example.

“The mantle you now wear carries with it the expectation that you will embody these values in every action, every decision, [and] every mission that you carry out. It is thus incumbent upon you to lead by example,” Pres. Marcos said.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos further reiterated to the new PNP generals their responsibility to lead, guide, discipline, and inspire the people who are under their command. He also ordered the newly-promoted PNP officials to make sure that the men and women under them are doing their jobs with competence and the ability to be trusted.

“Rest assured the whole nation and I acknowledge and commend all the hard work that you do,” the President said.

The Philippine government is currently facing political turmoil following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Amid the issues, previously, at the founding anniversary of the AFP, Marcos also stressed that the government must lead by example.
