Office of the Prosecutor Confirms Claim of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte over Summons
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President revealed that she received summons over the case filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Vice Pres. Duterte is now back in the Philippines where she has a looming impeachment trial before the Senate. However, the upper chamber has yet to issue the final date on when the trial will start.

Previously, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero proposed Duterte’s impeachment trial to start on July 30. Following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Senate Pres. Escudero assured that Duterte’s impeachment trial will push through.
Aside from the looming impeachment trial, based on a report on GMA News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also received summons from the Office of the Prosecutor over the case filed by the National Bureau of Investigation against her.

While Duterte did not give further details yet about the summons, previously, the NBI issued a subpoena against Duterte but she skipped the investigation. The NBI wanted to investigate the Vice President after her alleged “threats” against Pres. Bongbong Marcos, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

The investigation of the National Bureau of Investigation came after the Vice President claimed she allegedly ordered someone to kill the President, the House Speaker, and the First Lady if an alleged plot against her succeeds.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte spoke about the summons she received in a chance interview in Sogod, Southern Leyte. The claim of the Vice President was confirmed by Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon.
Currently, Vice Pres. Duterte is busy campaigning for Sen. Imee Marcos, Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar, and the PDP-Laban candidates.
