SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President expressed her apology for endorsing Pres. Bongbong Marcos and accepted the apology of Senator Imee Marcos for convincing her to run for vice president.

Countless Filipinos were left confused by the March 11 turn of events that led to the detention of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte in The Hague. It also created a huge gap between the Dutertes and the Marcoses. Amid the issue, Senator Imee Marcos sided with the Dutertes.

Sen. Imee Marcos open a Senate investigation on the arrest of Duterte. According to her, she cannot accept what was done to the former President. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously expressed her gratitude to Sen. Imee Marcos for the Senate probe on her father’s controversial arrest.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also reaffirmed her friendship with Sen. Imee Marcos. She even endorses the Senator in her bid for reelection.

Vice Pres. Duterte endorsed Sen. Marcos through the viral “ITIM” campaign ad where she claimed that black is allegedly the current color of the country due to criminality and hunger. In the said campaign ad, Marcos could said that the nation is hungry not only for food but as well as justice.

Recently, Vice Pres. Duterte also endorsed Sen. Marcos in a campaign sortie of former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. The actor-turned-politician is seeking a mayoralty comeback in the country’s capital.

Based on a post on Facebook, at the campaign event, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte apologized to the Filipinos for endorsing Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She cited the alleged deteriorated situation in the country now.

“Kita niyo nasaan na ‘yung bansa natin ngayon? Nasa kangkungan na tayo. Ay sorry! Inindorse ko rin pala si BBM. Humihingi ako ng patawad. Humihingi ako ng patawad sa inyong lahat,” the Vice President expressed.

Vice Pres. Duterte also said that she accepts the apology of Sen. Marcos for convincing her to run for vice president. Previously, the Senator admitted her regrets for doing such saying that Duterte was already fixed to run for mayor then but she convinced her to be the running mate of her brother.

“Ma’am [Sen. Imee Marcos] tinatanggap ko po ang sorry mo at pinatakbo mo akong vice president. Okay lang Ma’am. Mang uli na ta uy [Umuwi na tayo],” Duterte said based on the post.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte defended her endorsement of Sen. Imee Marcos saying that she’s different from Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The Vice President also called on the people not to vote for the bets of the President.
