Oil Price Hike to Take Effect This Week After Back-to-Back Rollbacks
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Several gas stations across the country are set to implement an oil price hike starting this week.
Filipino motorists will need to prepare for higher fuel prices starting Tuesday, April 22, 2025. After enjoying two straight weeks of rollbacks, oil companies have confirmed that prices at the pump will go up again this week.
Several fuel providers, including major players like Shell and Seaoil, announced that they will raise their prices by P1.35 per liter for gasoline and P1.30 for diesel. Kerosene will also see a price hike of P1.10 per liter.

Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz will follow with similar increases, though they will not be adjusting prices for kerosene since they do not offer it. Most of these price changes will be in effect starting at 6:00 a.m., except for Cleanfuel, which will apply its adjustments later in the afternoon at 4:01 p.m.
These new price hikes come after last week’s significant rollbacks, where fuel prices dropped by P3.60 per liter for gasoline, P2.90 for diesel, and P3.30 for kerosene. Despite the recent cuts, gasoline and diesel still have net increases for the year, while kerosene remains lower than its year-start level.
According to the Department of Energy, the upcoming hike is based on movements in the global oil market, particularly during four days of international trading. The changes are believed to be driven by tighter supply worldwide, influenced by fresh U.S. sanctions on Iran and planned production cuts by OPEC+ starting in May.

Although other oil firms have yet to release their advisories, similar increases are expected across the board. Fuel prices may continue to change in the coming weeks.
