Recently, Ausome Dos and Mommy, a Facebook account, shared a heartfelt story about her encounter with a customer at a grocery store who didn’t have enough money to pay for his items. The post elicited comments from netizens.
While waiting in the priority lane, the shopper let two people go ahead since they only had a few items. When it was finally her turn, the cashier asked if they could let another man from a different lane go first.
The woman agreed, especially after seeing that he also had only a few items. However, when he came over, she noticed he actually had two full baskets.
Her attention was caught on how organized and calm the man was. He quietly placed his items on the counter and most of what he bought were pretzels. He didn’t speak but signaled for assistance, and the cashier tried to help him with his payment. When it was time to pay, it became clear that he couldn’t speak and had trouble communicating.
The cashier tried showing him the total amount and even pointed to the money, but there was still no response. Soon after, someone who seemed to know him approached and was surprised to see he had shopped so much.
