Rico Yan’s image is included by Bobby Yan in his campaign materials
Netizens criticized showbiz personality Bobby Yan, who is running for councilor in Cabuyao City, for including the image of his brother, late actor Rico Yan in his campaign materials.
Rico was one of the matinee idols in the 1990s. He has done acting projects that boosted his career in the entertainment industry. His loveteam partnership with Optimum Star Claudine Barretto was so popular.
Their love story was also a big story in the entertainment industry. Claudine would still share posts occasionally, remembering her fondest memories with her ex-boyfriend.
At times, Rico Yan would also became a trending topic on social media because of fans and supporters would remember him for different reasons.
Just recently, netizens talked about him not because of anything connected to his past works, and his life story, but because of what his brother Bobby Yan did. The older Yan is currently running for councilor, and there is nothing wrong with this.
However, what netizens criticized was that he used Rico’s image in his campaign materials. Bobby shared a video on his Facebook Page a few weeks ago. It featured a campaign poster and behind Bobby’s image was Rico’s, and this also featured the party-list he is supporting.
“Ako po si ROBERTO “BOBBY” YAN JR., isang Businessman, public servant sa radyo at TV, at may karanasan na rin as Councilor, ay kumakandidato bilang KONSEHAL ng City of Cabuyao,” the aspiring councilor wrote in the caption of his post.
In the comment section of his post, which is now deleted, Bobby received criticism from netizens. “Wala ka ba tiwala sa sarili mo ? Kailangan talaga ilagay pa sa poster mo ang kapatid mo matagal ng namamayapa?” a netizen commented. Here are some comments.
