Awra Briguela Breaks Silence on Kendra Kramer Lookalike Comparisons
AWRA BRIGUELA – Netizens were quick to notice Awra Briguela’s striking transformation, but she revealed that looking like Kendra Kramer was never part of her plan.
Awra Briguela has clarified that her transformation was never intended to make her look like Kendra Kramer, the daughter of celebrity couple Cheska Garcia and Doug Kramer.
The social media personality openly addressed the growing comparisons between her and Kendra during her interview with Karen Davila on the latter’s YouTube vlog. Awra discussed the reactions of netizens following her transformation, particularly after undergoing rhinoplasty.
“Sinasabi ng ilan ngayon sa social media, kamukha mo na si Kendra Kramer. Was that intentional?” Karen asked Awra.
“Hindi po,” she answered straightforwardly.
Awra then explained that her actual inspiration for her new appearance was someone else. “Kasi ‘yong peg ko po talaga is ‘yong Latina model po, si Cindy Kimberly. Pero sobrang na-o-overwhelm po ako tuwing sinasabi nilang kahawig ko si Kendra Kramer o si Catriona [Gray].”
Despite the comparisons, Awra admitted that she sometimes feels embarrassed by the comments made by netizens. She also expressed concern that Kendra and Catriona might be uncomfortable with the comparisons.
“Medyo naaano nga po ako, ako ‘yong nahihiya for them kasi hindi ko rin makita. Pero siguro po sa ilong po talaga. Kasi mga naka-tip po ‘yong nose nila. Pero flattered po ako and na-o-overwhelmed. Sana naman po hindi sila ma-offend,” said Awra.
Awra also revealed that she began her transformation journey as early as January. However, she emphasized that changing her appearance was not something she decided to do casually.
As part of the process, she consulted an endocrinologist to have her testosterone levels checked and to determine how high the hormones she would take should be.
“Big step po talaga siya, e. Hindi siya ‘yong ‘pag gusto mo lang gumanda or ‘yong gusto mo lang magbago, magho-hormones ka na,” Awra further shared.
For Awra, making such a significant transformation requires proper guidance and preparation. She acknowledged that she feels fortunate to belong to a generation where people seeking similar changes can access professionals who can guide them through the process.
Her comments also highlighted that while social media comparisons can attract attention, her transformation was ultimately inspired by her own preferences and personal goals rather than an attempt to resemble another celebrity or personality.
