Influencer-model Trina Candaza shares an update about her co-parenting with Carlo Aquino and some tips about this setup.
Co-parenting is an arrangement between two people who have a child together but are separated. One of the challenges of this setup is the regular interaction with your former partner and maintaining a civil relationship for the sake of your child or children. This is for their growth with safety and security, with love and support from both parents.
In the Philippines, among the former couples who have settled in a co-parenting setup following their separation were actor Carlo Aquino and model Trina Candaza. They have a daughter named Enola Mithi. The baby girl is staying with Trina, and the actor can freely borrow her.
Recently, in an Instagram update, Trina addressed an inquiry about the co-parenting setup between her and the actor. According to her, they are “good and civil” for the sake of Mithi.
She then went on to give some tips in terms of decision-making and had these questions as guidelines:
- Is this truly in my child’s best interest?
- Will this make her happy?
- Will she gain something positive from this?
Trina added that despite the perfect love for their children, sometimes, the decisions that parents make for their children aren’t always in the best interest of their children. Some of them were rather made out of their emotions, and she asserted that this is something that must be double-checked at all times.
“Sometimes there are things that will hurt us but it’s the best for our children,” she continued.
To recall, Aquino and Candaza became a couple in January 2019 and welcomed Mithi in September 2020. In 2022, they broke up, and Aquino is now married to actress Charlie Dizon.
