Robin Padilla has his own set of senatorial candidates, different from PDP’s choice
Senator Robin Padilla allegedly received criticism from the executives of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) for endorsing the senatorial candidacy of Senator Imee Marcos.
Sen. Imee is seeking reelection in the 2025 elections. Previously, her campaign advertisement with Vice President Sara Duterte went viral. It is known to many Filipinos that VP Sara and Sen. Imee’s brother, President Bongbong Marcos, are not on good terms.
Sen. Imee asserted in a statement that VP Sara’s endorsement was not a reward for the Senate hearing regarding former President Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest.

Aside from the Vice President, Sen. Robin Padilla is also endorsing Sen. Imee Marcos, which allegedly did not sit well with the executives of PDP. The political party, led by FPRRD, has already released its DUTERTEN, the list of senatorial candidates that it is endorsing.
Based on the article in Abante, a source revealed that Sen. Robin received a series of messages from the party’s executives in their group chat for endorsing Sen. Imee.
Allegedly, because of the “banat” against him, Sen. Robin left the group chat and this surprised his companions in the party.
Reportedly, before leaving the group chat, Sen Robin Padilla already explained his choice to have his own set of senatorial candidates.

“Wala pong kinalaman ang PDP LABAN sa aking PERSONAL na Pag endorso sa aking pinunong higit sa mapayapang rebolusyon Senator Gringo 31 at sa aking manang Şenator Imee 39. Ito po ay pansariling desis¬yon ko. Ito po ay walang kinalaman sa DUTERTEN na Isinusulong ng aming Partido Political,” the lawmaker said in his Facebook post.
He also stressed that FPRRD has no direct endorsement for Gringo Honasan and Imee Marcos and that this came from his childhood and the years he is active in showbiz. The Senator added that he and the candidates he is endorsing are one in their purpose for the Philippines.
