Taxi Driver Criticized for Refusing to Take Passengers on Short Distance Trip
A taxi driver in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, was criticized for refusing to take passengers because their destination was too close.
Recently, Princess Nerio Mission, shared her experience with a taxi driver who refused to take passengers on a short-distance trip. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
According to Princess, she and her family rode a taxi from SM City Bacolod and asked to be taken to 888 Chinatown Mall. However, the driver immediately reacted negatively after hearing their drop-off point, asking if they really wanted to go only to 888. When they confirmed, he sarcastically asked if he still needed to use the taxi meter.

The mother asked how much the driver would charge if he didn’t use the meter, and he responded with a flat rate of P100. They agreed, just to avoid the hassle. But during the ride, the driver continued to complain, saying he had waited an hour for passengers only to get a short trip.
The driver even said they should’ve told him earlier if they were only going nearby. The situation worsened when the driver scolded a child who accidentally touched the air conditioner in the front, warning that they would have to pay if it broke.

Many netizens lambasted the driver, saying there are plenty of taxis in Bacolod and that drivers should not choose passengers based on distance. Passengers deserve respect, no matter how short the trip is.
