Pres. Bongbong Marcos Releases Holy Week 2025 Message to Filipinos

HOLY WEEK 2025 – Philippine Pres. Bongbong Marcos called on the Filipinos to stay “resilient and optimistic in life” and ponder on God’s example.

The Philippines is one of the countries across the globe that greatly observes the Holy Week every year. It is an annual commemoration of the passion, death, and resurrection of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

The Holy Week 2025 has started yesterday, April 13 or the Palm Sunday. Prior to it, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has ordered the law enforcers to ensure the safety of the people. Countless people are expected to go back to their home provinces and be with their families.

Recently, as the Holy Week started, Pres. Bongbong Marcos issued a statement for the Filipinos. Based on a report on Inquirer, the Chief Executive called on the nation to pause and ponder on the “perfect example” of the Lord about compassion and self-giving.

In his statement, Marcos Jr. said that Jesus Christ knew that the path to Calvary was a difficult journey. However, he endured the struggle and the sufferings in his “dutiful obedience to the Father’s will… all in the name of love”. He stressed that it is through Jesus’ sacrifice that the people got the gift of salvation.

“Like Christ, may we remain resilient and optimistic in life, despite all the challenges that come our way. May all the adversities that we face shape us into better persons, capable of understanding and charity towards our brethren,” Pres. Bongbong Marcos said.

Based on the report, Marcos Jr. also said that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross shows that humans are bound for bigger things despite “our limitations and frailties”. He also highlighted the victory of the Son of God which is celebrated on Easter.

“May the realization that a loving God embraced humanity to be with us inspire perseverance through tribulations and be an encouragement to our brothers and sisters,” he said.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also expressed his hope that the Filipinos will regain strength in the presence of their family and loved ones to be more dedicated in fulfilling the will of God.

Countless people are expected to travel this week. A bigtime oil price rollback is also expected during the Holy Week.
