Gerald Anderson was once a back-up dancer of these stars
Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson started his taste of showbiz as a back-up star, and this was recalled after his ASAP homecoming dance performance.
Gerald rose to fame after joining the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother’s first teen edition. From that, he was given a chance to pursue an acting career.
Now, Gerald is one of the most in-demand leading men of the Kapamilya network, and he has done various projects.

However, based on the article in PEP, before making it to the PBB house, Gerald Anderson did some stints as a back-up dancer.
This was recalled because of his dance performance on ASAP Natin’ To as his homecoming. “After 8 Years kaya pa ng tuhod,” the actor wrote in the caption of his Instagram post showcasing a portion of his dance performance.
He, together with Gela Atayde and Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab ex-housemate AC Bonifacio, danced the viral TikTok dance Emergency. It was recalled that Gerald was just 16 years old when he was hired to be a back-up dancer of actor Joross Gamboa.
Gerald shared about this in an interview on Jeepney TV in October 2017. Their dance group was called Fab Boys or Fabulous Boys, and one of their co-members was actor Edgar Alan Guzman.
Seeing for the first time his co-dancers, he said to himself, “ang popogi ng mga ‘to.” He shared that it was Edgar Alan who taught them the dance choreography, and they danced the Don Romantico song.
“Napakasimple lang ng steps, grabe. Kumbaga, kung ngayon tinuro sa akin, wala pang 30 minutes makukuha ko na. Pero, two weeks tinuro sa akin, mali pa rin ako sa sayaw namin. Grabe! Ganun ako ka-awkward nun,” Gerald Anderson shared.
In an interview on Magandang Buhay in August 2017, Gerald shared that he also became a back-up dancer of his best friend Rayver Cruz. It was just a “raket.” Then, there was a time when they had a basketball game with their acquaintances.
