BONGBONG MARCOS – The Palace revealed the reaction of the President on the lewd remarks made by some candidates for the 2025 Elections.

Recently, there were several scenarios when candidates in the 2025 Elections hooked the attention of the online community through their unexpected remarks at campaign sorties. One of them is Pasig congressional candidate Atty. Christian “Ian” Sia.

The Pasig candidate for congressman went viral over his joke about women solo parents at a caucus meeting. Atty. Ian Sia jested that single mothers who still have their period and feel lonely may sleep with him once a year.

Atty. Sia’s statement reportedly drew laughter from the crowd the at the campaign sortie. Later on, he clarified that it is only a joke. His statement earned him a lot of bashing and many people calling him rude on social media.

The Pasig candidate apologized over his single mom joke. According to him, he did it to awaken the audience at the caucus meeting and get their attention. He claimed that many people have already spoken before him and the people are seemingly bored.

Sia also claimed that he should not be blamed over the viral video. He pointed the blame to the uploader of the video who did not include the part showing the reaction of the crowd who were allegedly laughing at his joke.

The issue earned countless opinions. Recently, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro spoke about the reaction of Pres. Bongbong Marcos on the Election 2025 candidates’ lewd remarks at the campaign sorties.

Based on a report on GMA News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos tagged the lewd remarks of the 2025 Elections candidate as “unacceptable”. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has previously issued a Show Cause Order to Atty. Christian Sia.

In his response to the Show Cause Order, the Pasig Candidate insisted that his statements fall within his “freedom of speech”.
