Pres. Bongbong Marcos Issues Statement on Araw ng Kagitingan

BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President gave a message for the Filipinos as we celebrate the Araw ng Kagitingan or Day of Valor.

Today is a regular holiday in the Philippines for the celebration of the Araw ng Kagitingan or the Day of Valor. It is a commemoration of the heroic act of Filipino heroes who defended Bataan 83 years ago.

The 83rd anniversary of the Araw ng Kagitingan is one of the regular holidays in April 2025 as approved by Pres. Bongbong Marcos. This will give many Filipinos the chance to participate in some programs and celebrations intended to commemorate the heroes’ cherished sacrifices for the nation.

This morning, Pres. Marcos led the wreath-laying ceremony at the Dambana ng Kagitingan in Mount Samat National Shrine in Pilar, Bataan. The Chief Executive gave a message to the Filipinos as we celebrate the Day of Valor.

Based on a report on GMA News, at the wreath-laying even in Bataan for the celebration of the 83rd anniversary of the Araw ng Kagitingan, Pres. Bongbong Marcos called on the Filipinos to follow the example of the heroes who sacrificed their safety to defend Bataan. According to Marcos Jr., Filipinos can emulate the example of the heroes by boosting the causes that uplift the lives of other Filipinos.

According to the President, valor is not just about how strong one is when faced with challenges but also about the small acts of generosity, compassion, and kindness. He stressed that being kind “creates meaningful ripples of positive change in our communities”.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also called on the Filipinos to emulate the examples of the Bataan heroes “through acts of genuine service and self-offering to the nation”. According to him, it is also through these actions that we can be worthy of the heroic legacy of our heroes.

Amid the celebration of the Araw ng Kagitingan, the government is also preparing for the Holy Week which is set to be held next week. Pres. Bongbong Marcos has instructed the law enforcers to not sleep at work this Holy Week.
