Oil Price Rollback Set on Tuesday (April 8, 2025)

Fuel Companies to Impose Oil Price Rollback This Week

FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Several petroleum companies in the country are set to implement an oil price rollback this week.

Starting Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Filipino motorists can expect a small break at the pump this week as several fuel companies announced slight price rollbacks.

Starting early morning, gasoline prices will be lowered by P0.10 per liter, while kerosene will drop by P0.50 per liter. Diesel prices, however, will stay the same. These changes will take effect at 6:00 a.m. for most companies, including Shell, Seaoil, Caltex, PTT, and Petrogazz.

Cleanfuel will follow with the same adjustments at 8:01 a.m., excluding kerosene which it does not offer.

The price cut comes after two straight weeks of fuel price increases. Last week alone, gasoline rose by P1.40 per liter, and both diesel and kerosene went up by P1.20. The week before that also saw notable hikes.

These back-to-back increases have pushed year-to-date adjustments to a net rise of P4.65 per liter for gasoline, P4.45 for diesel, and P0.90 for kerosene as of April 1, 2025.

Oil Price Rollback

In Metro Manila, fuel prices last week ranged widely. Gasoline was priced between P60.35 and P71.48 per liter, while diesel hovered around P53.10 to P56.10. Kerosene, on the other hand, reached P71.87 per liter.

The latest developments in the global oil market have affected these changes. Concerns over reduced refinery output in China, limited supply from Kazakhstan, and international sanctions created fears of tighter supply.

At the same time, increased oil production and a slowdown in global demand have started to ease prices.

Fuel companies continue to watch how global trade issues, like U.S. tariffs and production shifts, may affect prices in the coming weeks. For now, motorists can enjoy the looming price rollback.
