Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya announced that Team Kaya This suspended Atty. Christian Sia due to his viral joke about solo parents.
Sia went viral on social media after a video clip surfaced online in which he offered himself to sleep with a female single parent who still has her monthly period.
His party mate actress Ara Mina was even criticized for laughing along with that joke about solo parents. Initially, the lawyer defended what he said during a caucus that did not sit well with many people.
However, he eventually apologized for what he did with the explanation of his supposed real intention. Amid the bashing that he received, his party mate, former beauty queen Shamcey Supsup, also called him out.
In a report from Inquirer, Team Kaya This took action against Atty. Christian Siya. Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya said that they suspended the aspiring congressman for three days because of what he said about solo parents.
However, Discaya said that they can’t just let go of Sia. “Tao rin siya na nagkakamali, but it doesn’t mean that to say we have to let him go because we started this journey together and we will end this journey together,” Discaya said.
The mayoral candidate even stressed that nobody is perfect and that everyone makes mistakes. She also praised the lawyer for being courageous enough to say sorry and make amends to the solo parents. Discaya stressed that she knows Sia has focused on a program for solo parents.
Prior to this, Sia had fiery statements against incumbent mayor Vico Sotto. The son of Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes simply said that people of Pasig City know the truth. He said that it does not really matter if other people mention his name during campaign events.
