Construction Worker in Caloocan City Falls from House After Getting Electrocuted While Working
A construction worker was seriously injured after he got electrocuted and fell from a house in Caloocan City.
A 23-year-old construction worker was seriously injured after he got electrocuted and fell from the roof of a house under construction in Barangay 36, Caloocan City. The incident left people in the neighborhood shocked.
According to the barangay officials who also acted as first responders, they heard a loud explosion coming from a nearby transformer. Shortly after, residents started shouting that a man had fallen from the roof.

The worker was measuring something on the fourth floor of the building when he reportedly touched a high-voltage wire that was too close to the structure. The electric shock caused him to fall and land on the second floor of a nearby house.
Neighbors quickly worked together to help the injured man who was lying on the roof, weak and unable to move. It took more than 20 minutes before the Caloocan Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (DRRMD) arrived.
They used a spine board to safely bring him down and place him in an ambulance.

Although the victim was in critical condition at first, the barangay later confirmed that he is now stable and recovering. The owner of the house being built has agreed to cover the worker’s hospital expenses.
However, it was discovered that the construction site did not have a building permit. Some residents had already complained about falling debris from the site before the accident happened. The owner of the house has not yet given a statement.
Meanwhile, Meralco reminded all construction workers to keep a safe distance of at least 10 feet from power lines and to use conductor covers for safety when working near electricity.
