Sen. Imee Marcos Speaks on Private Plane that Carried Duterte to Netherlands
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator claimed that the plane that carried former Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to The Hague was allegedly the same plane used by Pres. Bongbong Marcos in his recent trip to Ilocos Norte.
Countless Filipinos were shocked when Sen. Marcos led the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. Undeniably, her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, earned a lot of backlash from the unexpected turn of events.

Sen. Imee Marcos left the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago led by Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Her decision came after she skipped the Tacloban and Cavite campaign rallies of the grand alliance as she wanted to investigate the arrest of the former President.
According to the Senator, she was shocked and she could not accept what was done to Duterte. She stressed that it seems like the former President has no country of his own when the government surrendered him to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was arrested by the members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) last March 11 upon his arrival from Hong Kong. From Ninoy Aquino International Airport, the former President was detained at the Villamor Air Base for several hours but was flown to The Hague, Netherlands via Dubai on the same day that he was arrested.

Sen. Imee Marcos then claimed that she and PBBM have not talked about the arrest of the former President. She invited several government officials and members of the cabinet of the President on the first day of the hearing.
Following the hearing, Sen. Marcos expressed her belief that there seems to be no due process in the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. She is one of the people who hopes that the former President will be brought home to the country soon.
Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos surprisingly claimed that the private plane that carried former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is allegedly the same plane that was used by Pres. Bongbong Marcos in one of his recent trips to Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
Based on a post of Daily Tribune on Facebook, Sen. Marcos specified that the said private plane had the tail number RP-C5219. However, the Senator was allegedly not able to clarify the matter as the invited personnel from CAAP did not attend the probe.
Malacañang previously sent a letter to the Senate informing the upper chamber that the cabinet officials won’t be attending the second day of the investigation. Sen. Imee Marcos lamented on the absence of the Cabinet officials.
