Vic Sotto introduces son Vico Sotto as the country’s next president.
As the 2025 election campaign period kicks off, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto was introduced by his father, Vic Sotto, as the country’s next president.
“Ipakikilala ko na po. Alam ninyo siguro kung kanino nagmana? Kanino pa eh di sa nanay. Eto na po ang susunod na presidente ng Pilipinas, Mayor Vico Sotto!”
This is the remark of veteran actor-host Vic Sotto as he introduced his son, Mayor Vico Sotto, as the next president of the Philippines, much to the delight of the audience. This is during the Giting ng Pasig kick-off rally at the Pasig City Mega Market on Friday, March 28.
Upon hearing this, he downplayed the remark and added that he may have been just carried away. He spoke before the crowd, and initially thanked the venue’s vendors and administration for letting them hold their proclamation rally at Mega Market.
He recalled his humble beginnings and thanked the people of Pasig, as it was because of them that most candidates under the Giting ng Pasig banner were given the opportunity to serve. He remembered that one of his first actions was to eliminate city hall-issued benefit cards.
The younger Sotto believed that help must be accessible to all residents, not just to the privileged ones.
In the upcoming midterm election, Sotto is seeking his third and final term as mayor.
He encouraged the people to forget the old ways of politicians who resort to bribes, fear tactics, and lies, and to instead support him and his team in the May polls.
“Kaya sa darating na Mayo, huwag na tayong bumalik sa makalumang style ng politika. Style na bulok. Politikang may panunuhol, politikang may pananakot, politikang puro kasinungalingan. Dito na tayo na makabagong politika dito sa Pasig,” he said.
