Statement of PNP on Removal of Sen. Bato dela Rosa’s 2 Security Details
PNP – The Philippine National Police clarified that the two (2) security details of Senator Bato dela Rosa were recalled on January 13.
Following the arrest of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, there are speculations that the International Criminal Court may issue more arrest warrants in its investigation of the war on drugs of the previous administration. There are speculations that Sen. Bato dela Rosa may be next in line.

Dela Rosa was the PNP chief during the term of Duterte. There are speculations that the ICC may want to investigate his role in the implementation of the war on drugs of the previous administration.
Previously, Sen. Bato dela Rosa claimed that he is ready to join Duterte and take care of the former President in case the ICC issues an arrest warrant against him and all legal remedies fail. However, recently, there is a change of stand by the Senator with regards to the ICC arrest.

From Sen. Dela Rosa claiming that he can defend himself at the ICC even if he is not a lawyer in case his lawyer can’t, the former PNP Chief admitted that hiding from the authorities is an option he may consider in case an arrest warrant will be issued against him by the foreign court.
According to the Senator, he is not expecting justice from the Marcos administration. He stressed that he will not allow himself to be arrested and may seek the protection that the Senate can extend to him as an institution.
Sen. Bato dela Rosa accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos of betraying the Filipinos and the country in surrendering former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to the ICC. Dela Rosa sought understanding over his change of stance on the ICC arrest saying he needs to survive the challenges that come his way. He also claimed that even Marcos Jr. had a change of stance on the ICC issue.
Recently, Sen. Bato dela Rosa also claimed that the PNP recalled the security details that were assigned to him in Davao City. According to the former chief of the national police, he only knew about it when he returned home to Davao from the campaign sorties.
“Hindi ko alam kasi nag iikot ako. Ngayon, pagdating ko rito, wala na sila. Pina-report na sila,” the Senator said.

The Philippine National Police issued a clarification on the claim of Sen. Bato dela Rosa. Based on a report on GMA News, the PNP said that the two (2) security officers assigned at the residence of the Senator in Davao were recalled last January 13.
The PNP also explained that the security details of Sen. Dela Rosa were recalled pursuant to the regulations with regards to the election protocols in the Philippines. Based on the report, PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo clarified that the reports that the security details of the Senator were recently recalled are not true.
“Inalis na po yan noon pa pong January 13 pursuant nga po dito sa Comelec Resolution bilang pagsunod doon sa protocol pagdating sa availment po ng security detail,” Fajardo said.
Recently, amid the looming arrest warrant from the ICC, Sen. Bato dela Rosa revealed he tried to disguise.
