Authorities Arrest Man Who Took 2-Year-Old Girl Hostage in Quezon City
HOSTAGE TAKING – A man who held a two-year-old girl hostage in Roque 2, Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City, was arrested.
On Tuesday (March 26, 2025), the 41-year-old suspect, armed with a knife, barged into the child’s home along with his wife. The mother of the child recounted the terrifying moment when the man stormed in, turned off the lights, and grabbed her daughter.
As he attempted to attack, the father of the child blocked the strike, saving the little girl from harm. In the chaos, the mother managed to push her other child outside to safety.
Desperate to keep the child unharmed, the family followed the suspect’s demands. He ordered them to get into a jeepney and head to Los Baños, Laguna, claiming he wanted to start a new life.
The mother, the child’s grandfather, and the suspect’s wife were forced to accompany him on the ride.
As they traveled along Visayas Avenue, a barangay ambulance followed closely, with police operatives from the Holy Spirit Police Station also tailing them. The chase ended at Elliptical Road near Quezon Avenue, where authorities and concerned citizens took action.
When the suspect tried to escape by jumping into another vehicle, bystanders sprang into action. He even attempted to ride a motorcycle but was stopped when people intervened. He fought back but was eventually overpowered and captured.
The child suffered minor scratches, while her mother sustained bruises from being punched multiple times. The father, who was slashed on the arm, received immediate medical attention. The suspect himself was injured during the scuffle and was later revealed to be a childhood friend of the victim’s father.

Despite being detained inside a police vehicle, the suspect remained aggressive, even breaking the car window. Authorities recovered two bladed weapons from him. He now faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, grave threats, and resisting arrest.
