Sen. Bong Go Speaks on Atty. Salvador Medialdea, Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in Netherlands
BONG GO – The Senator gave an update on the medical heart procedure of Attorney Salvador Medialdea in the Hague, Netherlands.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is currently detained in the ICC (International Criminal Court) detention facility in the Hague, Netherlands. The former Philippine President was arrested by the Philippine authorities last March 11.

On the same day that former Pres. Duterte was arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP), the former Chief Executive who is faced with an ICC warrant arrest over the allegations surrounding his war on drugs campaign was flown to Dubai en route for Netherlands.
On his flight to the Hague, former Pres. Duterte was accompanied by former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea, a nurse, and his special assistant. He is currently detained in the Hague Penitentiary Institution.

Atty. Salvador Medialdea was appointed by former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte as his legal counsel during his initial appearance before the pre-trial chamber of the ICC. Previously, former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque claimed that he and Medialdea will be part of the legal team of the former President.
However, unexpectedly, Atty. Salvador Medialdea fell ill in the Hague, Netherlands and was brought to a hospital. Based on a recent post of Sen. Bong Go, the former executive secretary underwent a medical heart procedure.

Meanwhile, Sen. Bong Go happily announced that Atty. Salvador Medialdea is now out from the hospital following a successful medical heart procedure. However, based on the post, the former executive secretary has to stay in the Hague for six (6) weeks as he is not allowed to travel back to the Philippines.

Atty. Medialdea also extended his gratitude who prayed and keep on praying for him. Sen. Bong Go also called on the Filipinos to continuously pray for the safety, health, and freedom of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte who remains detained in The Hague.
Recently, amid the questions about the presence of the due process in the arrest of the former President, a lawyer accredited by the ICC said that Duterte got special treatment during his arrest compared with ordinary suspects.
