Paulo Avelino talked about his first movie with Kim Chiu
Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino wanted to work with his current leading lady Kim Chiu in future projects with different genres.
Paulo showed versatility in the acting projects that he did. Last year, he was given a chance to be Kim’s onscreen partner in the drama series Linlang. Fans were easily mesmerized by their onscreen chemistry.
This was followed by another big project. They starred in the Filipino version of the hit K-drama What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? which also garnered positive feedback from fans.
Previously, Paulo Avelino shared that Kim Chiu is different from his past leading ladies because it is already his third time working with her in their first movie My Love Will Make You Disappear.
The movie will have an international screening and this is something that Paulo is proud of. In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, the actor said that it is not a usual thing that a rom-com movie from the Philippines is being brought to the international scene.
“Pero nakakatuwa na rom-com. For instance, hindi ko maisip and I can’t even imagine a rom-com film being shown and having an international release. So there’s immense pressure not just on us but also with Star Cinema. But it’s nice, it’s a different flavor,” the Kapamilya actor said.
He is amazed that there is no direct translation of the word “kilig” in English. With this, they try to show this kind of feeling through the scenes in the movie.
The actor also shared that he is hoping that this will not be his last project with Kim. He also hoped that they would have a chance to explore other genres in their future projects.
“I would love to work with Kim again, but I would like a different genre. Maybe a tear-jerker, an action film, or what I’ve been wanting to do for the longest time: a sci-fi film,” Paulo Avelino said.
Meanwhile, rumors circulated that Kim and Paulo are now in a relationship with each other. However, the onscreen partners haven’t directly addressed the rumors linking them romantically.
