IMEE MARCOS – The Senator sees that there seems to be an absence of a due process in the arrest of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The souring of the relationship between the Marcoses and the Dutertes is something that countless Filipinos did not expect. Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte ran in 2022 under the platform of “unity”.

However, according to VP Sara, she was allegedly fooled in believing that there will be “unity and continuity”. She has been throwing tirades against the President since she left his cabinet and the Department of Education (DepEd).

Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte says her relationship with Pres. Bongbong Marcos has reached a point of no return. She also claimed that the Marcos administration wants her removed from office.

Recently, countless supporters of the Duterte family negatively reacted following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. It earned Pres. Bongbong Marcos the anger of many Filipinos who support FPRRD.

A lot of Duterte supporters believe that Marcos Jr. has the power to stop the arrest but he allowed it. The former President was reportedly arrested following the International Criminal Court (ICC) releasing an arrest warrant against him. The issue is about the accusations against him over the war on drugs campaign.

Unexpectedly, following the arrest of former Pres. Duterte, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos skipped the Alyansa campaign rally led by Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Sen. Marcos who is a friend of Vice Pres. Duterte said she cannot accept what was done to FPRRD.

Sen. Marcos also expressed a desire to investigate the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. She led the Senate foreign relations committee’s inquiry into Duterte’s arrest. A hearing was held on Thursday with the presence of key government officials and members of PBBM’s cabinet.

Based on a report on GMA News, Sen. Imee Marcos answered in the negative when asked if she and Pres. Bongbong Marcos have already talked about the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. According to her, she thinks there is no due process in the arrest of the former President.

“Kayo ang humatol. parang wala, ‘di ba?” Marcos said.

Based on the report, Sen. Imee Marcos also stressed that some of the resource persons at the hearing were hot-headed. According to her, they might be needing a group chat.

Sen. Marcos said that former Pres. Duterte was surrendered to the ICC like he has no country of his own. According to her, it also showed like the Philippines has no capacity to judge her own people.
