PAGASA Says 3 Weather Systems to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that three weather systems will bring rain over parts of the country.

On Monday (March 10, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line, amihan, and easterlies will affect the country’s weather condition.

Pagasa weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that shear line affecting Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon will bring rains over these areas.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Albay.

Sa kasalukuyan po, patuloy pa rin ang epekto ng shear line sa may bahagi po ng Northern at Central Luzon,” Torres said.

The easterlies will also bring similar weather over Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte.  The northeast monsoon will be affecting Extreme Northern Luzon.

“May mga kumpol pa rin po ng kaulapan na namamataang nakakaapekto dito sa bahagi ng Luzon area. Dulot po yan ng epekto ng shear line o ang pagsasalubong ng mainit at malamig na hangin,” Torres added.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“For the rest of the country naman po, magpapatuloy pa rin ang partly cloudy to cloudy conditions. Ibig sabihin po, inaasahan natin na generally fair weather conditions sa nalalabing bahagi ng ating bansa,” she explained.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times, heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
