Raging Man Arrested After Firing Gun During Confrontation w/ Alleged Attackers of His Child
A raging man Pasig City was arrested after firing a gun during an encounter with men who allegedly hurt his child in a basketball game.
Based on CCTV footage, the father was seen walking on the street when he tried to grab one of the men, but the man managed to escape. Moments later, another man pushed the father, while someone else punched him and threw a helmet at him.
A commotion broke out, and the father pulled out a gun and fired shots. He then fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Authorities were quick to track him down, arresting him in less than 24 hours. The father explained that he only acted to defend his child from those who hurt him during the game.
“Sa tulong ng ating mga informants at witnesses doon na gustong ma solve ang problema nakipagtulungan sa amin and then sa tulong ng mga CCTV nagbacktracking kami,” Pasig chief of police P/Col. Hendrix Mangaldan said.
He expressed that as a father, he only wanted to protect his child. The men involved in the initial attack on his child will also face charges.
“Sumuko na lang po ako para wala na pong mangyaring masama yun lang po, bilang ama kaya ko po nagawa iyon,” the suspect said.
The incident left three people injured, but they are now in stable condition.
The incident shows the importance of resolving conflicts peacefully and the legal consequences of taking matters into one’s own hands. Authorities remind the public to seek help from law enforcement instead of resorting to violence.
