Sara Duterte Stands Firm Amid Legal Storm
SARA DUTERTE – Despite the legal turmoil surrounding her, Sara Duterte remains resolute and unwavering.
Vice President Sara Duterte remains resolute despite the legal and political challenges she faces, asserting her unwavering faith in truth and the steadfast support of her allies. As the impeachment process looms, Duterte has chosen to focus on engaging with the public rather than addressing the controversy head-on.
The proposed impeachment trial timetable has been set, with key dates marking the progression of the legal battle. The Articles of Impeachment are scheduled to be presented by prosecutors on June 2, followed by the convening of the impeachment court and the oath-taking of senator-judges on June 3. The process will span several months, culminating in the start of the trial on July 30.

Despite these developments, Duterte has not publicly addressed the impeachment proceedings in detail. Instead, she has allowed her legal team to handle the matter, emphasizing her confidence in due process and the truth.
Cebu Visit: A Show of Gratitude
Duterte made an unannounced visit to Cebu, where she met with her supporters, reinforcing her connection with the local community. She expressed her gratitude to Cebuanos, acknowledging her ancestral roots in Tuburan, Danao, and other municipalities.
“I need to be here to thank Cebuanos. As a Cebuana – my father’s and mother’s ancestors, they were from Cebu, in Tuburan, Danao and other municipalities – I have to see them and personally thank them,” she stated in the local dialect.
Her visit was seen as a strategic move to rally grassroots support, reinforcing her stronghold despite the looming legal battle.

Call for Voter Discernment
Beyond expressing appreciation for her supporters, Duterte urged Filipinos to exercise discernment in the upcoming elections. She emphasized the importance of scrutinizing candidates based on their track record and accomplishments rather than their political lineage.
“Don’t vote candidates just because of their names. Don’t vote anyone just because he or she is a Duterte. Check their accomplishments, and what’s important is having a track record of fulfilling promises,” she said.
As the impeachment proceedings move forward, Duterte remains steadfast, banking on her supporters and belief in truth to weather the storm.
