Robi Domingo shared that it is not his first time receiving a nasty online comment
Kapamilya host Robi Domingo explained his decision to seek help from the National Bureau of Investigation after receiving a threat from a netizen.
This issue started after Robi shared a post about the new season of Pilipinas Got Talent. He and comedienne-host Melai Cantiveros are the new hosts and the new judges, Eugene Domingo, Kathryn Bernardo, and Donny Pangilinan, joined the resident judge former ABS-CBN President Freddie ‘FMG’ Garcia.
In this post, Robi received a threat from a troll account, and this has something to do with Kathryn and Donny. It is known to many that the actor is Belle Mariano’s current love team partner.
In a recent interview with ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe, Robi Domingo shared that when he read that comment from the troll account, he asked his wife Maiqui if it was okay to retaliate. After that, the Robi went to NBI and shared with netizens the things they can do when this happens.
His wife told him to just ask questions and don’t make it direct because it might create chaos online. Indeed, it created chaos as Robi shared that fans of Kathryn and DonBelle supporters were commenting already.
He said that people may say that this is a minor thing and that the comment came from a troll account. “Minor of major threat, troll or not, you have to take accountability of your actions,” Robi said.
He also thought that if he will just let this incident pass, there is a possibility that a person will create many troll accounts and harass certain personalities.
When asked about what will happen next after seeking help from NBI, he said that he is thankful to the agency, especially its cybercrime division, for helping him with processes. “It’s up to them kung anong mangyayari, ako I did my part and hopefully, especially in the age of social media, please do your part, and please be responsible.“
In the same interview, Robi Domingo shared that amid this incident, Belle Mariano messaged him assuring that no DonBelle fan will do that kind of threat.
