Collector Attacks Debtor in Laguna Over P2,000 Debt
A collector stabbed a debtor in the chest over a P2,000 debt while they were standing by the roadside in Pagsanjan, Laguna.

Recently, a male suspect, who was demanding payment for an alleged debt of P2,000, escaped the scene after the attack.
A video shows the suspect and the victim talking with another person along the road in Barangay Sampaloc. After a few moments, the suspect suddenly stabbed the victim in the chest.
The victim, who worked as a collector for a small town lottery (STL), was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities later arrested the suspect, who admitted to confronting the victim over the unpaid debt. According to the suspect, instead of settling the amount, the victim allegedly hurled insults at him. This enraged the suspect, leading him to commit the violent act.
The police have filed a murder charge against the suspect, who is now in custody. Investigators are looking into further details surrounding the case to determine if other factors contributed to the altercation.
Residents in the area were shocked by the incident, as disputes over small amounts rarely escalate to violence. Authorities continue to remind the public to seek peaceful ways of resolving conflicts to prevent similar tragedies from happening.
