Man Arrested for Committing Robbery on IBP Road Arrested in QC
A 31-year-old man was arrested after robbing a 36-year-old woman along IBP Road in Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
On Tuesday (February 25, 2025), the police authorities arrested a man who man who committed robbery along IBP Road.
According to the Batasan Police Station, the victim was able to call for help immediately, allowing authorities to catch the suspect quickly. She was on her way home after watching a beauty contest when the crime happened.
While she was about to ride a tricycle, the suspect suddenly approached her from behind and took her cellphone.
“Habang naglalakad siya along IBP Road eh pasakay na siya ng tricycle yung suspek natin ay bigla na lang siyang hinoldap sa likod tapos kinuha yung kanyang cellphone,” Batasan Police Station Deputy Station Commander Police Captain Glenn Gonzales said.
Police Captain Glenn Gonzales, Deputy Station Commander of Batasan Police Station, confirmed that the suspect had been previously jailed in 2017 for illegal drug use and was only released in 2024.
Authorities recovered a .38 revolver with four bullets from the suspect, along with the stolen cellphone and bag belonging to the victim. The firearm has been submitted to the crime laboratory for ballistic examination to determine if it was used in other crimes.
“Sinubmit namin sa crime lab for ballistics examination para ma-verify po siya kung iyong baril na ‘yon is nagamit sa ibang krimen,” he added.
During the investigation, the suspect admitted to committing the crime due to financial struggles. However, police officials emphasized that regardless of his reasons, he will still face legal consequences.

The suspect is currently in police custody and will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, along with robbery charges.
