Press Undersecretary of Malacañang Claims Dutertes Want To Regain Power
MALACAÑANG – Palace’s newly-appointed press officer slammed the “dictatorship” claim of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte versus Pres. Bongbong Marcos Jr.
The dictatorship of the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr. is one of those written in Philippine history. The former Statesman was president of the country for nearly two (2) decades after declaring Martial Law. Currently, the nation is led by his only son, Pres. Bongbong Marcos Jr.

Marcos Jr. won the presidential election in 2022 with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte as his running mate. The Dutertes and the Marcoses are two (2) of the most prominent clans in the Philippine political arena.
However, last year, the Filipino people saw the souring relationship between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has also repeatedly thrown tirades against Marcos Jr.

Recently, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos may also resort to dictatorship to secure a longer stay in Malacañang. He also expressed his belief that no other candidates can win against his daughter, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, in the presidential elections if she decides to run in 2028.
According to Duterte, the camp of Marcos is allegedly trying to remove VP Sara from the picture. His statement at a rally in Cebu gained countless different reactions from the people.

Some of the officials of Malacañang have also reacted to the claim of Duterte against Marcos Jr. Recently, the Palace’s newly-appointed press officer, Undersecretary Claire Castro, slammed the former President for his remarks.
Castro was asked by the Palace reporters for a comment on the issue. Based on a report, the Palace Press Officer recalled the alleged previous statement of Duterte who allegedly admitted that he was already an expert in making intrigues and planting evidence even since he was still a fiscal.
“Hindi tayo puwedeng maniwala sa mga pang-iintriga lamang na walang ebidensya… Natatandaan ninyo na noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Duterte, inamin niya, fiscal pa lang siya, expert na siya sa pang-intriga at pagplanta ng ebidensya,” Castro said.
Claire Castro claimed such thing was allegedly proven during the time of former Senator Leila de Lima. Based on the report, the press officer of Malacañang believes that the Duterte family wants to regain power.
”So alam na natin kung saan ang punta nila, gusto nila ulit makuha ang power, ang authority, ang position,’‘ the Undersecretary said.
While the President has yet to personally speak on the issue, Malacañang has also released a statement on Duterte’s tirades versus Marcos Jr.
