In a previous article, a San Beda College is being rumored as the new BF of actress Andrea Brillantes. According to rumors, there were instances of them going out together and this year, they were spotted on a Valentines date.
The rumored new boyfriend of Brillantes is Sam Fernandez, a 26-year-old college athlete.
About Sam Fernandez
He is Samuel Fernandez Abu Hijleh Filipino-Jordanian student-athlete born on October 1, 1998. He is from Calamba City in Laguna and stands 6’3″ tall. Not much is known about him as he has kept a low profile. Even his social media accounts were sent to private but most of his posts were about his dog and family.
He is currently completing his college degree at San Beda University’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Fernandez has a stellar high school basketball career excelling in playing power forward and center. In 2016, his team won the championship title in the NCAA Season 92’s Juniors division, and in that season, he had 13.1 points and 10.4 rebounds for the Red Cubs. He was a runner-up to La Salle Greenhills’ Troy Mallillin for the MVP award.
In the same year, the Calabarzon team, where he was among the members, claimed victory in the Palarong Pambansa’s secondary basketball tournament.
In 2018, he decided to join the University of Sto. Tomas’ men’s basketball team, however, in 2019, he had to put a halt in his career after suffering from torn ACL and meniscus injuries in his right knee during practice. The pandemic happened and during this time, he learned to love frisbee.
In a January 2025 interview, Brillantes shared her interest in playing frisbee as her way of balancing life and work.
