Female Passenger Goes Viral After Incident with Badjao Beggar
A female passenger received mixed reactions from netizens after allegedly slapping a Badjao who attempted to spit on her when she refused to give money.
Recently, “flavor_of_love,” a Reddit user, shared her encounter with a young Badjao in their area. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and garnered various reactions from the online community.
The incident happened while the female passenger was riding a tricycle. She sat beside another woman who was already being pestered by the young Badjao. The boy had pulled the other passenger’s hair while persistently asking for money.
Despite this, the woman politely declined, explaining that she had no spare money. Shortly after, the boy turned his attention to the Reddit user, asking her for money as well. When she also refused, the boy appeared to prepare to spit on her.
Before the boy could follow through, the lady passenger suddenly slapped him. Although she didn’t use much force, the slap caused the boy’s face to turn sideways, leading him to spit away from her instead.
When the boy made another attempt to spit, she grabbed his hair firmly but did not pull too hard. As the tricycle began to move, she let go of him and made a hand gesture of frustration as the boy walked away in tears.
The other passenger beside her was left speechless by what had just happened. The uploader admitted that she didn’t feel guilty about her actions at the time. She expressed her frustration about the growing number of Badjaos in her area, saying that they had become more persistent in begging for money.

“Sinampal ko yung badjao
Sumakay ako ng tricycle kahapon sa may amin. Wala namang Badjao doon noon, pero ngayon meron na.
Sumakay ako sa likurang pwesto ng tricycle (hindi sa likod ng driver). Katabi ko si ate na kinukulit ng Badjao. Kita ko hinila yung buhok niya, pero si ate hindi napalag. Sabi lang niya “Wala na. Yan na lang yun, pamasahe ko na ‘to eh.” Tapos, yung bata kinukulit pa rin siya hanggang sa makita ako at lumapit sa akin. Hiningan ako, pero sabi ko “Wala.” Tapos bigla na lang niya akong duduraan, pero bago ako maduraan, sinampal ko na siya.(hindi naman masyado malakas) Tumabingi yung mukha niya kaya sa side siya napadumura. Akala ko hihinto siya, pero dudura pa ulit, kaya hinila ko ang buhok niya (hindi totally na hila, parang hawak na may konting paghila). Tapos, umandar ang tricycle nang dahan-dahan, hawak ko pa rin siya, tapos bigla ko na lang siya binitawan. Nung medyo malayo na yung pagitan namin, pinakyuhan ko siya habang siya umiiyak patalikod na. Si ate na katabi ko, shocks lang habang nakatingin sa akin.
Ewan ko kung naguilty ba ako that time. Pinapakiramdaman ko ang emotions ko, pero wala eh. Sobrang nakakainis na dumadami na naman ang Badjao sa lugar namin, eh wala naman dati.
Meron din akong na-encounter na ganyan sa jeep before. Hindi siya binigyan ng katabi ko, tapos nagsalita siya sa language nila. Naintindihan ko yung sinabi niya, sabi niya “Maaksidente sana kayo.” Ewan ko kung bakit ko naintindihan yun, pero alam ko yun talaga ang sinabi niya. Kaya sabi ko sa kaniya, “Masagasaan ka sana pagbaba mo.” Nagulat siya tapos umalis.
NOTE: Okay pa naman yung Badjao na nanghingi sa akin sa tricycle. Nakita ko siya nung sumakay ako ulit doon, pero hindi na siya nanghihingi sa akin. Tingin na lang tapos pinakyuhan pa ako HAHAHAHA. (Minsan lang ako sumakay doon.) Gusto ko sana maawa sakanila kaso nanaig yung inis ko eh (siguro mga 13 yrs old na rin yun, tapos ako 18 na ako eh) dami ko prob tapos dumagdag pa sila HAHAHAHAH KAINIS!”
