Male Suspect Attempts to Kidnap Two Students, Caught and Beaten by Crowd
A male suspect was arrested after allegedly trying to abduct two students outside a school in Barangay 35, Caloocan City.
A man who attempted to kidnap two students outside a school in Barangay 35, Caloocan City was arrested after he was cornered by concerned residents.
According to a barangay tanod who witnessed the incident, the suspect was seen forcefully pulling a young female student while attempting to take her away. Another male student, who was also targeted, managed to run away and alert others.
Alarmed by what he saw, the tanod confronted the man, who claimed the girl was his daughter and that they were going home. However, the student denied his claim and immediately sought help from the tanod.
The barangay officer quickly acted by calling for assistance from other officials to restrain the suspect. Residents, angered by the incident, attacked the man before he was taken into custody at the barangay hall.
The situation escalated, but barangay officials managed to prevent further harm to the suspect.
The suspect explained that he missed his own children and wanted to take a child out of longing for his family. Despite his reasoning, he now faces charges of attempted kidnapping.
The father of one of the victims shared that his child was deeply shaken by the event, describing how the man had grabbed her hand and tried to force her to go with him. Fortunately, she broke free and escaped.
“Kinausap ko ‘yung anak ko, sabi ko, ‘Nak anong ginawa sa’yo?’ Sabi niya, ‘Pa, hinawakan ‘yung kamay ko.’ Tas sabi raw sa kaniya, ‘Sumama ka sakin’. Pumiglas po siya sa kamay, buti na lang po nakawala. Tapos tumakbo na po siya, kaya nakaligtas ‘yung anak ko,” the father’s victim said.
The suspect was treated for injuries sustained during the mob attack before being officially detained by Caloocan police. Both students have since undergone counseling to help them recover from the traumatic experience.
The suspect remains in custody and will face legal proceedings for his actions.
