Tony Labrusca was asked about his first Kapuso project
Star Magic artist Tony Labrusca shared what he did before doing his first Kapuso series Binibining Marikit with actress Herlene Budol.
Tony has done different projects over the course of his career in showbiz. He did support roles and even portrayed sultry characters. This year, he showcased his talent in doing romantic comedy and this is under GMA Network.
Tony is currently being managed by Star Magic, the talent management company of ABS-CBN. In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, the actor said that he can’t technically call himself a Kapuso because he does not know how this thing works in the industry, and that he was just offered to do a show.
However, before doing that, he asked permission from the ABS-CBN management. When asked if his contract with GMA is just per project, he said that there is no contract and that the Kapuso network just “borrowed” him.
Then, he was asked what he would do if Sparkle GMA Artist Center offered him to be under its management. Tony said, “I honestly don’t know how to react. So, I think right now, I just wanna focus on what’s been given to me.”
He added that he just wants to do his best in this current project given to him. The actor said that this is a good project that is also in a good time slot.
Tony said that his management could have said no when GMA offered this project but thankfully, ABS-CBN nodded. The actor previously shared that he really prayed to have a project with Herlene Budol and fortunately, that prayer came true.
When asked if he is open to doing other Kapuso projects in the future, the actor said that this sounds nice but his focus right now is on what he is currently doing.
Tony Labrusca said that he does not want to say more about this because he thinks that if it happens so be it.
“Kaya sa ngayon, I am really grateful and blessed na binigyan ako ng project na ‘to, that I was even thought of in the first place here in GMA, and super happy that nag-align lahat ng stars na natuloy yung project,” the actor said.
