Gabriela wants to help Jellie Aw in dealing with a recent issue with Jam Ignacio
Disc jockey Jellie Aw received support from the women’s rights group GABRIELA after she was allegedly beaten up by her fiance Jam Ignacio.
A few days before lovers would celebrate the heart’s day, a controversial issue arose between Jellie and Jam. The DJ accused her fiance of physically abusing her. Her face with cuts and bruises devastated netizens.
Many people expressed support for Jellie and she expressed gratitude for those who showed empathy and encouraging words to her amid this difficult time in her life.

GABRIELA also expressed support for DJ Jellie Aw. In a Facebook post, based on the article in Inquirer, the women’s rights group promised to help the disc jockey get the justice she aspired to have because of what Jam Ignacio allegedly did to her.
The group’s Secretary General Clarice Palce said, “We recognize the courage it took for DJ Jellie Aw to publicly speak out about the abuse she suffered in the hands of her fiancé. We stand behind her in her fight to hold Jam Ignacio to account for his crimes.”
GABRIELA pointed out that many women are still in this kind of struggle of coming out to the open regarding the harassment they experience because of different reasons such as getting ashamed of fearing for the welfare of their family, especially in situations when the abuser holds a certain power.
This is the reason why the group welcomes and supports those who come out to the open to put an end to the bad situation they are.
“Ms. Jellie’s experience resonates with thousands of women and children in communities who likewise suffer abuse within and outside their homes. Thus, it is paramount that we all come together and fight to end VAWC, including rape and s=xual exploitation which has seen an alarming rise in cases especially among young women and girls,” the group’s Secretary General said.
As of this writing, Jam Ignacio has yet to address the accusation against him. He is the ex-boyfriend of Queen Mother Karla Estrada. Jam proposed to DJ Jellie Aw last November.
