PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (February 12, 2025)

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that four weather systems will bring rain over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (February 12, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Four weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrino reported that a low-pressure area, shear line, easterlies, and the northeast monsoon will prevail over the archipelago.

A low-pressure area was spotted 260 kilometers west-northwest of Pag-asa Island outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It has a medium chance of turning into a tropical cyclone.

“May mino-monitor tayo na low-pressure area na nagsimula kahapon. Nandito sya sa may labas ng Philippine Area of Responsibility at huling namataan mahigit 260 kilometers kanluran-hilagang kanluran ng Pag-asa Island,” Badrina said.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon. Mindanao will have the same weather due to the easterlies.

“‘Yung shear line nga natin ay may mga dalang kaulapan, patuloy na magdadala ng mga pag-ulan, partikular na sa may silangang bahagi ng Central Luzon at Southern Luzon,” Badrina explained.

The residents in the affected areas are advised to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

The trough of low-pressure area will bring similar weather conditions over Palawan.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley, while Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, according to PAGASA.

“Mag-ingat sa mga potensyal ng mga biglaang pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa, dulot nga ng mga pag-ulan na epekto ng easterlies sa may bahagi ng Mindanao,” she added.
